The council have confirmed that they are committed to providing representation for the community, but that these types of road markings are no longer suitable. From the article it seems to be an issue with the markings making it difficult for some visually impaired people to recognise the markings as a pedestrian crossing.

Sounds like the fella complaining is just pissed off that he doesn’t get to keep the road markings that he campaigned for. He should be happy that they got the council to continue funding projects for Pride.

I’ll put my pitchfork away unless the council don’t follow through on providing something else.

I really wish this performative shite from corporations and bodies would end. This isn’t working towards normalising anything. Some people are gay. That does not infringe on any people who are not. Just be cool with them, you don’t spend time thinking about anyone’s sexuality if they’re straight, same goes if they’re not. Just be cool with people- is it that hard? Of course, we’re in for another month of this shite. It’s always the worst corporations who virtue signal the hardest. Microsoft does this, yet they also heavily assist the israeli invasion of Palestine. They only do this performative shite to protect their stock price. Similarly, county councils in this country are absolutely evil to the populace and a big reason why we have a housing crisis- so please stop buying that they’re actually into this.

I remember taking a picture of a dude on a motorbike with a big American flag & the word Trump on it as he was waiting on the rainbow road for the traffic lights. Was just after or before the first election & unfortunately as he was stopped you couldn’t see the words on the flag. I thought it was so random & hilarious! Also so wtf in Ireland.
