Leave Pornhub and Xvideos alone.
It’s not that hard to be a responsible parent and to teach your child Sex Ed
I mean… it’s true…
I really wonder how can they protect the children without needing too much information, that will make them vulnerable and will drive customers away? If someone knows more, i would like to hear what can be done.
Oh, by the way, does reddit have “effective age verification”?
EU is fine when the age of consent is 14 in 1/3 of its territory.
But if the underage masturbates instead of having sex with a shady neighbour, it is a tragedy that needs an attention at the supranational level.
lemme jerk it anonymous style
Plenty of free VPNs going around to render these barriers useless
Oh ffs, can they focus on more useful pressing problems like the EU being fully digitally dependent on the US and rampant Ruzzian/Chinesed propaganda turning elections? Not saing this it not a problem, it’s just like… ok, so what do you wanna do about it? You either have a right to privacy and a non-censored free internet, and then you CANNOT solve this “problem”, or you have to set up a China-style insanely privacy-invading surveillence apparatus that NOBODY ever wants to become a reality, because the EU is the last truly free, somewhat democratic, privacy-respecting place on Earth. Also the whole euroskeptics thing is only gonna get worse if they pursue this… can they get back to rearming Europe and banning Slovakia and Hungary from ruining everything, instead of shooting itself in the foot like in 2013-16 with migrants
Honestly, age verification is the least of their problems. The problem is how much child pornography ends up on those sites without anyone checking.
Wasn’t the EU’s digital service act all about freedom of using the www?
Seems like we need to repeal some shit then
Here’s a wild idea, but just hear me out. What if their parents protected and watched over their children instead of neglecting them and passing that burden to porn services? Yeah it’s a crazy fucking new concept but it might just work.
This just after a few days of the news that a lobby group is pushing for identification document for use of any internet device makes me think that this is the first step with something more easy to agree because “think of the children”
Or, you know, we could just make parents responsible for monitoring their kids’ online activity instead of making other people’s children everyone else’s problem?
Totally agree. I think it’s appalling it’s been left unchecked for so long. It’s brainwashing the next generation of kids.
Putting the blame on the websites instead of the parents is insane
Did now know about 2 out of 4. Thanks 😊
How could a platform RELIABLE and foolproof check the age of a visitor?
I can’t. So unless the EU provides a way for those website to check the ID age (AND NO OTHER INFORMATION) then it’s not on them.
A bar or supermarket can check my ID when I buy alcohol. A website can’t.
So the EU is endeavoring to follow in the footsteps of free speech trailblazers such as Texas and Utah, which have age verification laws.
If you like to watch porn, then start downloading it or buy physical media. This shit is only going to get worse in the next few years.
Hmm, social media is a bigger concern than X-rated sites.
The EU being ridiculous, again.
