It could be worse. They could send caravans on your motorways.

It sounds like bullshit, but it is physics and is considerated by engineers building wind farms.

It‘s easier to understand if you replace wind with sun and think about shadow.

    5. And the Dutch wind farms are south west of our wind farms… So they are stealing our wind!

This topic sounds like a joke, but I can image it’s a serious topic. Also curious if less wind affects the nature, even when it’s only the North Sea we are talking about.

Well, it’s the least we can “steal”, cnsidering the territories they have stolen from us.

    8. You’d think they’d have enough of their own, what with all those sprouts…

Ah, the early beginnings of the 2030’s Lowland Wind Wars. What a time to to die in a thermonuclear attack over a mere gust of wind.

First they stole waffles, now wind. Is anything safe from Belgium’s crime spree?

“If you measure behind a wind turbine, the wind blows less hard. ”

Is there a engineer (civiel ingenieur) who knows more about this? For me, it sounds like it doesn’t work that way. Yes, behind a WALL, the wind blows less hard. The wind goes around it, and as a result, it blows harder around the edges. But these windmills together, they would stall the wind slightly all together, wouldn’t it? It can’t be that the upwind mill turns faster then the downwind mill? The Dutch mills would stall the Belgium mills as much as the other way around.

    13. Less wind means less waves, so the Belgians are protecting the Dutch from flooding.

      > “They are located southwest of the Dutch parks and the wind often comes from the southwest, so you often steal some of our wind,” he said.

No one else but the Dutch to think that they can claim ownership of wind.

I mean, the kinetic energy in wind is diminished, albeit in small amounts by wind turbines.
      So technically they are.

I live in the Netherlands. Let them steal some wind – we have way more than enough. Belgium could probably steal half the wind and people would be happy about it.

We simply need to integrate our energy networks into one European network, we already have one coin, what’s stopping us?

Oh no. The Wind Wars are about to kick off! Didn’t Nostodamus predict them with uncanny accuracy centuries ago?

*”That zephyr that should fuel the watery land

Will be used to brew the incomparable beer

That Walloon and Fleming alike imbibe,

And jealous Dutch will, without fear,

Lay waste th’offending mills o’ the sea,

To make their point devilishly clear.”*

I think that’s how it went. Feel free to correct me. My memory isn’t what it used to be.

The dutch have been stealing land from the sea for decades, it’s quite rich coming from them !
