The picture shows water from the Corund stream falling into the mine. In recent days the stream had up to 100x the normal flow rate.
> The Praid salt mine dates back to Roman times. In recent times, the attraction on the Via Transilvanica long-distance trail also served as a medical centre and a tourist destination, including an adventure park, a cinema, a small museum and other facilities, all located some 120 metres underground.

> On Thursday, the underground dam built with considerable efforts by Salrom employees collapsed, allowing water to enter the Telegdy mining sector. The event occurred as a result of the heavy rainfall recorded in recent days that led to the increase in the flow of the Corund stream.
> This incident led to the collapse of salt stocks, as well as of the equipment and machinery underground, which can no longer be recovered.

It’s tragic. They knew about the problem, and yet they did nothing.
Damn. There goes my favourite cheese.
Fuck.
It was a marvelous place, second to none. Always planned on bringing the kids there, but I guess that’s off the table now.
does this mean the mines are lost? will all the salt be dissolved, or will they remain filled with water? can it be pumped out?
