Countries really don’t get much more awful than the Gulf states. Hilariously corrupt countries full of modern slavery, a plethora of human rights abuses, excessive pollution, and completely backwards laws targeting women and LGBT+ people. Bastards.

This is a good thing. Saudi are allies im not sure what the alternative is? unilateral sanctioning of one of closest partners?
As distasteful as it is, any and every effort to promote regional stability is good. This serves multiple purposes;
– Isolate and weaken Iran.
– Strengthen regional ties
– A more stable region will help secure Red Sea shipping.
“Values” don’t put food on the table or pay the bills.
Ultimately, realpolitik is king.
I might wait to see the details before frothing at the mouth and crying betrayal.
I find it endlessly bewildering how the ever-inclusive UK, and indeed most of the West, just loves Saudi Arabia, Dubai/UAE, Qatar, etc. despite these being some of the most backward countries on the planet. They’re very shiny, but not so great if you’re gay or a poor immigrant or a non-Muslim, and woe betide you have consensual pre-marital sex.
