Hitler fu respinto due volte dall’Accademia delle belle arti Vienna e le sue speranze di diventare pittore furono schiacciate. Questa è una delle sue opere più famose: “Il cortile della vecchia residenza a Monaco” (1914)

In his book he claimed that when he was rejected, they suggested him to switch to architecture, cause apparently these buildings he painted were architecturally correct or something.

      His claims, tho.

His greatest piece was Germany in May 1945.
Berlin totally destroyed, as were millions of soldier and civilian lives.
What a piece of work. Oh and of course his masterpiece; ‘my brains on a bunker wall’.

At first glance I really think it looks well, and then I start to look at it more and honestly it just looks AI generated, it’s just ”off”-

It’s okay, but nothing special by the standards of architectural illustration of that time and place.

Just imagine what this world might have be like if they decided to admit him after all…

The perspective, vanishing point and shadows are all wrong. The colors don’t really match either.

He really wasn’t a good painter.

And here we are in 2025 and finally an Austrian Artist won in Europe.

I can see why they rejected him. The picture is okay for colour and shading, but the depth is weird and the windows look like they were printed on. It’s not realistic enough to look real and not impressionistic enough to look meaningful.

In 2002, a critic was invited to review some paintings by Hitler without knowing who the artist was. His comments highlighted the lack of vitality and human connection in the works, emphasizing how they reflected a profound disinterest in people and comprension of human’s sociality

Dude couldnt even get the perspective right and that building looks all wrong

As someone who cannot really draw or pain I think it looks good.

    13. MacchiatoEnjoyer on

Well, where is the artistic expression in this? I think that could be the problem, not whether he was technically capable or not. This shows he can draw but takes more than to draw to be an artist.

    14. As with the other ones, the perspective is completely fucked – you’ve surely got to have the basics right before you get into an acadamy of fine arts.

The longer you look at this, the weirder it gets.

People claiming, that his paintings are not perfect, but you should not forget, when your paintings are already perfect before studying then why study art in the first place🤔

Even if they would have accepted him, he probably wouldn’t have stuck with it. If you look at his life before that point, he was all over the place, unemployed, impulsive, obsessing over women he never spoke with, basically daydreaming his time away instead of working on anything that could improve his life while his family supported him financially. It honestly sounds like he had ADHD and while a lot of people with ADHD manage to thrive because they use their hyperfocus to create good things, he didn’t. I doubt he would have put in the work to become a painter.

Sounds like another guy who didn’t get into the colleges of his choice and now takes revenge seriatim.

He was more talented as a graphic designer. The logo and the flag are brilliant.

I can see sone mistakes here but i would love to know what type of works got people in to this institution. What level did they require for students?

    20. LDlOyZiq on

Maybe its just how often I’ve heard of his perspective being bad, but the persepctive in this does also not feel quite right.

    21. He had no artistic sensibility whatsoever, that’s the thing. A vulgar man that couldn’t even notice he wasn’t any good.

    22. Kaffe-Mumriken on

      Looks like AI slop ironically

      All flat and lifeless

    23. rick_gsp on

His paitings are pure shit. Completely generic and lacking any emotion.

    24. Everything must have a shadow, there you go. You have a shadow, you have a shadow. WHERE THE FUCK IS SUN SHINING FROM?

    25. GiantSquirrelPanic on

It’s not bad, maybe he was just a shit person to be around

I like it. It evokes that feeling you’d get in the afternoons of the last days of school before the summer break.
