Is it a shock they’re incompetent?
It took the sniffer dog to be the one to crack the case of the criminal mastermind who was scammed for two years by fake chimpanzee sellers.
There is no getting away from the fact that if the Gardai did their job properly, Satchwell should have been locked up 7 years ago and Tina’s family spared these years cruelty.
I think the appalling nature of this crime has overshadowed how bad the investigation was.
Really sounds like what he’s trying to say is “if the Gardaí had half a brain between them this obviously guilty fucker wouldn’t have been able to put in a not-guilty plea and I wouldn’t have had to make a fool of myself trying to make a case for him”.
And he’d be right.
The first time that man appeared on camera he gave off such a weird vibe. His behaviour in that short segment did not fit with his story of a missing person. The only thing I could say in his defence was that he could be a harmless weirdo and English isn’t his first language.
Surely the Gardaí picked up on these vibes and went over him with a fine-tooth comb. Right? Right?!
Defence barrister tries to muddy waters by attacking gardai. The gardai caught and convicted the murderer. If the gardai went in and jackhammered the concrete inside the house and it turned out he was innocent everyone here would be queuing by to abuse the gardai as insensitive and incompetent. GSOC would investigate the guards who did it for four or five years. They honestly can’t win.
The woods search was a joke
Kerry Babies, Sophie Toscan du Plantier, Fred Flannery in Cork, Dean Lyons- let’s face it the Gardaí have a bit of an impressive record when it comes to screwing up several high profile murders.
Because they would rather do as little as possible like how they ignore emergency calls from certain areas. Gardai can’t be trusted to follow law, let alone enforce the law unless you’re a landlord.
