This is back to business as normal for CBI basically, now that all the NAMA bonds have been sold. As a financial regulator it’s not run as a for profit organisation, and it’s funded by an industry levy as opposed to tax payer money directly.

Due to covid and the EU and European central bank stepping in to buy debt and keep the EUs economy from collapse, the central bank here (as a component part of that) has made “profits” of c. 20bn over the last decade. Its now making “losses” off the same thing.
These “losses” have been signaled for years and reflect irelands proportion of the above EU response to covid.
Total non story but it gets the clicks
