It sounds like a good thing so they’ll probably kill it.
The politics of incompetence and fear.

Scrap it in the name of the kind of “efficiency” or “saving” I’d make if I stopped paying my mortgage.

> Pen Green argues its problems arose when the previous regime chose to redirect extra funding traditionally earmarked for the centre to other nurseries in the county.
And there is the detail that is missing from this article.
Which nurseries in which areas received funding that they hadn’t received previously?
Are those nurseries and areas as worthy as this one.
A pity the Guardian journalist chose not to explore this area.

I’m not a fan at all of Reform. But in fairness, the leader of the council has said he wants to keep the centre running and is impressed with the support it provides.

The Reform anti-woke world-view. Another one is that poverty, inequality and racism will just vanish if you refuse to look at them. And if you INSIST on looking at them, then you’re hopelessly biased and the very cause of any social divisions that exist.

It would be great if Reform fuck it up in about April 2029 please.
If you want to avoid Reform winning the general election, their incompetence has to be forefront at the time of the election.

This is my town, I go to baby groups at this centre 3 days out of the 4 I go to groups. I’m gonna start going to the Friday afternoon session too. Some days I go to 2 in one day! It is amazing and the staff there are amazing, the nursery itself is also top tier.
I truly can’t see reform killing this, it’s a vital and well used resource in our town. It helps young mothers, poor mothers, displaced mothers, sen children ect. It teaches cooking classes and baby care skills classes for free for parents that need them.
Whilst I’m embarrassed and disgusted that reform got the majority, I genuinely cannot see people reacting well to this closing and I don’t think reform would take the risk

This will be a key part if how reform will be seen to treat poor people.

If they truly care, this will be fixed.
If they don’t, it will be a shitshow.
