Agreed OP but when I find a savage tasting bag of king or tayto I have to get me a fresh batch bread to make a few crisp sambos but manhattans for a dip bag are king.

Manhattan do the best crisps and also the best peanuts.
ODonnells are the best cheese and onion imo – just a crazy amount of proper flavour. Don’t see them in pubs much though.

I used to live walking distance from the Manhattan factory in D11. Had an Off License at the base of a horrific building, used to get an ice cold 1L Bulmers bottle and a gigantic pack of Manhattan crisps for less than a 10nner.
I don’t miss living in Dublin, but miss having that!
Had them for the first time last night in the pub…. Had about 10 bags they were that good!! Definitely the best crisps IMO

I think they’re in the conversation and certainly would have them above king (derisory) and tayto (trading on past glories!). But for a slightly more fulsome taste and density I’d go o’donnells.
My job is quite niche (theres only 11 of us in the country that do it and were all in the one team) and we had reason to deal with the owner of Manhattan crisps/popcorn. We sorted everything out for him and when we were finished he dropped in 3 huge boxes of popcorn, crisps and peanuts to us because one of the girls mentioned we all loved his popcorn. Sound man.

I’m glad there’s a consensus about these, one of the few snack brands left that aren’t under a conglomerate. You pay a premium for them but they’re so good.
