Aontu & II combined would be 10%. The mind boggles why they don’t just merge. Seems like a no-brainer.

Surely with the margins of error always hovering around the low digits, this poll constitutes a complete “as you were?”

Which is not to say it’s a good thing, those numbers really so show how FF/FG is strangling politics here. At least one clear leading party would force the others to offer something different.

These polls don’t matter. Same shit happens every time there’s an election.

scary how quick II & Aontú have risen up while PBP stay at 3%

5%+ gains and losses may raise an eyebrow but 1 and 2% gains/losses are not newsworthy.

I’ll never not be annoyed that Labour and Social Democrats aren’t the same party.

Green party at one percent and their policies have fucked the country.

Aontu and Ind. Ireland with 5% each is very high I’ll be honest

No polling matters until FF+FG are below Sinn fein even when they’re added together, because until then, were are going to have essentially a single-party FFFG government in this country forever.

Where was this poll from? Like I know it says the Sunday independent but was it online or in the newspaper itself?

      Fianna Fail and Fine Gael

That’s a higher percentage than usual supporting parties whose members I wouldn’t allow in the house.

And the poor greens. They actually stand for something decent.

    13. The people that vote FF/FG time and time again are more than likely the same people that have been voting for them for the last 30+ years. Cant wait for them to finally die off in the next 20 years

    14. Not sure how FG can gain anything when in Simon Harris they have the most thinly skinned politician going. He is nasty too and resorts to personal attacks quicker than almost any I can ever remember. He’s a broadly terrible leader and that’s saying something

What’s the margin of error on this poll, I can’t see it reported anywhere?
Up 1% or down 1% means nothing in these polls generally.

    16. oneeyedman72 on

I see no reporting of a margin of error, but previous Ireland Thinks polls quote +/-2.5%.

These results, up 1% or down 2% are absolutely meaningless, pure bullshit, and mean nothing. Take the poll again 2 minutes later and the results could be different.

Reddit as ever exasperated with the reality of politics.

Until the polls combine FF and FG it’s pointless to look at. Instead look at the Government and future government being at 40% end every other faction falling way behind.

    19. Gobshite666 on

Just asked as its Rare I see anyone outwardly admitting to being an FF or FG voter, at least admit it and own the fact your voting away a hell of alot of the populations hope and futures.

Its very very bleak for alot of people id love to know other than cultural tribalism, civil war generational politics or your getting something we dont know from voting them in.

The same stays the same different deserves a chance.

And it badly needs a chance to change

Only a matter of time before the F’s pull the emergency cord and get the far right involved in govt.
