I like football myself, but I will never understand such things.
Ok, celebrate, be happy, but this is just barbaric.

People dying for some players that win millions of euros every year…

And people frown at me when I say that football is a replacement for tribal warfare.

Let’s be honest, football isn’t a sport for the brightest. I do enjoy watching it, but going to the extreme like hooligans do over a bunch of guys chasing a ball and getting paid more in a year than those hooligans probably will in their entire lives is silly. Only people with low intelligence behave that way, no offense to anyone.

This has nothing to do with football. It’s bands of thugs that grab the opportunity to wreak havoc whenever there is a public event or celebration.

And then, people wonder why the extreme right and fascist parties rise in Europe. When the swing goes too far left, it will, unfortunately, swing to right with vengeance…

    5. Without the word Champions league in the title for context, this is domestic terrorism

But how can this be? I thought only English fans were trouble – that was the message after the Euros.

Win in a sports game = people on the streets of France = FUCKING DEAD ☠️

If the usual commenters here would bother reading the article: one 17 year old got stabbed in a small town near Spain in a party gone bad, another guy killed himself while on his scooter.

The herd of dangerous and vile immigrants from a far away land? Only in your messed up minds.

So Reddit when it is another nationality than English it is football’s fault but when the fans are English its their fault.

    10. There are people dead … after a PSG historic win of the UCL.

**What the fuck is going on, Paris needs to get a fucking grip !**

      This is horrible.

    11. Reminds of winning a WC in 2018. While French trashed their cities, Croatians who were runner ups celebrated exactly how you’d expect the celebration is supposed to look like

rip man, there’s always the stereotype of rioting in foot all but that’s beyond this, shit this is unfortunate

This thread is filled with people that lack a basic understanding of real life subcultures. If you actually believe this is normal behaviour, even for ultras or hooligans, then you don’t know anything. These kind of riots also occur in Belgium and other European countries with MENA population everytime a North African team plays some big world cup game.

A local hardcore football guy don’t fuck up his own local stores and businesses, unwritten rule.

Large gatherings in France are always an excuse for crimes. The people doing these things can be often seen waving flags that aren’t France’s, go figure.

They’re in France solely for their own benefit but deeply hate the country and actively enjoy hurting it.

But I’m not French (thank god) and the bed was made a long time ago. Can’t say I feel sorry anymore.

Blaming this on the football match is mistaking the tree for the forest.

Can anyone explain to me why we hardly ever hear about tennis, volleyball, basketball, rugby or water polo fans rioting and thrashing the streets?

    16. Less-Network-3422 on

Reminder that PSG is owned by Qatar and is a sports washing enterprise by them.

How can anyone enjoy a sport that much to go out and kill someone or get arrested

    18. TinyIllustrator5895 on

When fronce won the world cup in 2018 it was the same , when the Liverpool and real Madrid had to play in paris in 2021 we’ve seen the same kind of chaos.

It was also the same when moroco got to the final quarter of the wc or when algira won the african cup.
