till 1918. Culturally people(Azerbaijanis) started separation from İran Azerbaijanis. First Theaters, first journals, first news pappers First european style educated people. First novels and novellas. First European type Education in primary schools. First Railways and Industrilisation. First ethnic clashes with Armenans. And heavy colonisation of Yerevan ,Karabakh and Baku and etc.
For example here [Armenia in 1840s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Oblast) only 25% are Armenians. In 1908 it is go up till 45%-50%.
Then in between 1918-1920 we have Soviet – Azerbaijan – Armenia wars. Check [March Day Genocide](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_Days) .
Also Armenians commited ethnic cleansing in all these uezds. during and after ww1.

Also Azerbaijanis did something like that in 1 uezd in Karabakh. Apperantly in smaller scale because after 1920 Armenians get from USSR permission for autonomus republic. Which they still non-stop claiming a given to Azerbaijan land. Which is obviously BS.
After 1920 and invasion we have sovetised sociaty. Way more educated people. Soviet propaganda and ideology. More writers more novels more culture. Meore industialisation. More agroculture. More repressions. Death of cultural opposition elits. Peaple like Mikayil Mushfik and Huseyin Cavid. More cultural centers in villages.
WW2 and more death.
Forced deportation of 50k Azerbaijanis from Armenia.
After ww2 more industrilisation. Some more national culture . More local movies. Soviet type housing for everyone. Good argroculural results. Etc.
