I don’t think it will make as much difference as some people think, but any effect will help to a degree.

Changes how often I see these horrible things cast aside in the street, so there’s that.

It does – it stops wasters chucking these damn things everywhere it pleases them. Even in our little village you see these things littered everywhere.
The next step is to ban flavours other than tobacco. Kids get hooked to the overly sweet and fruity vape liquids, so shut that down. Eventually just squeeze the entire supply line to the point where nobody wants to take it up and the idea of smoking/vaping dies.

Pre-filled “refillable” ones are now being sold for the same price as disposables. So in effect literally nothing has changed. If you really wanted to cut down on their use you would make it so that you couldn’t buy pre-filled ones, and then levy some sort of duty on the juice to bring them closer to how expensive cigarettes are.

Out of all the things to gain traction in recent years I think hate vapes most of all.
I’m willing to bet there are still places selling these, it’ll just be done under the table until the stock dries up.
If anything it just crated a new black market.

Working in retail, probably the most stolen item in the shop, especially by kids.
Now moved with tobacco behind the kiosk. A good change for society.

It’s not designed to deter usage, it’s designed to lower waste.
Angers me when changes/legislation is determined a failure because it doesn’t do something that it was never intended to do in the first place. It’s an extremely ingenuous form of argument.

I popped into the local petrol station for a vape, hadn’t bought one in ages.
It puzzled me, as I could buy 4 refil pods for £15 or a new chargeable vape for £12.

it seems most people are more fussed about littering than actual vaping.

They would say that, wouldn’t they?
