That was the tail end of the 70s mini boom. It was about to turn into an 80s deep recession.
A devopeped site is practically unheard of today. It should have been regulated properly rather than done away with.
The house I’m in now was a devopeped site my father bought, so are the 32 other houses in the estate. All working class families and most were built by credit union loans.
In 85 the house cost 35k all in and fully furnished. Site was purchased for 11k in 81 with water, electric and sewer ready for connecting and paid back weekly on a council loan by jonny cash – sounds like a pipe dream in today’s situation
