Whoever gave that lad that undercooked meat burrito needs to get fired.

It’s always funny when you hear the door shaking and initially you think: ah, it must have been a gust of wind… But then you realize it’s not windy at all, it’s just Etna doing volcano burps

How is “pay to reject cookies” legal in Europe? They’re using an Irish TLD, which would indicate they’re an Irish branch, no? Does someone who understands cookie laws better than I do know if this kind of trashy behavior is legal in Europe, or if I should report it to the European Data Protection Supervisor?

Also, “you still get ads after paying” may not be illegal, but it’s scummy beyond words.

No danger at the moment, Catania airport is open and if you want to check the situation go to CT.ingv.it, Italian institute of geology and volcanoes.

I have lived on the slopes of Mount Etna for the last 30 years: I can see the craters from my balcony, as the crow flies, they are about 6 km away. This eruption does not seem any worse or better than previous eruptions, which happen five or six times a year. The skies are clear and there is a little wind, so the ash is going straight up and not encumbering flightpaths. The airport is open.

I have received far more messages from friends abroad about this interruption than any in the past, even though some of those were certainly more spectacular and worried me a little more. I think it must just be a slow news day in the UK press, which is full of stories of tourists fleeing for their lives but which the Italian press is not carrying at all.
