We need to nationalise it, but first we need to make sure it’s the lenders and investors who bear the brunt of the loss of equity and value of Thames Water rather than us taxpayers. We need to end the “profits are privatised, but losses are socialised” model of neoliberalism

At the end of the day the taxpayer will foot the bill. We all know that is what will happen.
NATIONALISE!!!

Investor realised can’t make shit loads of money out of it. Not sure why we were expecting a wealth management company to save it and give value to its customers.

It’s insane that the private company that took it over back in the 80’s, took it over while it was 3/4 billion in debt, they ran the company until it had around 10 billion in debt before selling it (while giving out £2.5 billion in dividends to its investers), the new company took over, didn’t pay ant dividends but did pay its executives millions and it’s still riddled with debt; then what’s probably going to happen is its going to be re-nationalised so the private companies have just basically bled billions if pounds from the British people, who thought it was a good idea to privatise utilities?? They should all be ran by the government.

NATIONALISE IT.
For pennies on the pound. Sting those who buy public infrastructure and poison the well for future privatisation.

Let it collapse and take it over _for free_.
Either the owners make it work or they lose all their money 🤷♂️

I bet they are still paying dividends though. Actually wasn’t it them the other day saying they had to pay management an absolute fortune otherwise the company would fail? It’s almost like they just to take the cash and run leaving the public holding the mess.

So bills have gone up, dividends and bonuses are through the roof.
No spending on infrastructure or leaks, no tackling the raw sewage in the rivers.
Massive fines.
If this wasn’t an essential service we would all say it’s a terribly run business and deserves to fail.
Nationalise it, it’s the only way.
Tax payer is paying anyway.

I still think we as the general public could form a collective big enough to buy enough shares and turn it around ourselves instead of the gov. Nothing stops us buying enough shares to have a controlling stake that says no more dividends until shits sorted.
But then you are relying on enough people fronting the cash and then still keeping the same agenda knowing that they now stand to benefit from maintaining the status quo

I hope my family’s legal case against TW is all sorted before this happens, however they are being incredibly uncooperative even after overwhelming evidence.

I’d like to see the company go under, all their investors lose every penny and the government pick it up for £1 and run it to bring it back on track. All members of OFWAT should also be sacked and the members of that board should be prevented from ever being allowed to regular any other industry.

Let is collapse.
Renationalise it.
Put the CEO and senior management in prison.
Force shareholders to repay the debts.
Done.
