Ukraine is on track to build 2 million drones this year and 4.5 million drones next year.
They claim to have the potential capacity build 10 million.
Our 100k drones better be pretty high end to make an impact.
It’s good that we’re supporting Ukraine but I can’t help but wonder how much more value for money they’d get if we just sent them the funds instead. Ukrainians are demonstrably adept at making drones, some of my friends from the IT sector there have pivoted part of their businesses to just drone making to support the army. It costs a lot less to make a drone in Ukraine than it does in the UK. We could send them like half the money we’re spending on this, and they’d probably still make more than 100k drones (and faster). Am I missing something?
