You know what I think about Fords CEO? Or Toyota? Or Chrysler? Or Kia? Or Volkswagen?
Nothing, because I don’t fucking know who any of them are.
Tying your companies identity directly to your own can work great, as long as people continue to like you. Act like a giant fucking child (and this was happening long before he got into US politics) however and your company will tumble alongside your reputation.
It all started going downhill fast after he called that diver trying to save the children in Thailand a pedo.

This is what happens when a company creates a personality cult around an idiotic personality.

When there are cheaper better electric/hybrid cars on the market tesla value was in the perception of the brand. Elon has shot that in the foot

Step 1: Build a brand around being an innovator that furthers progressive causes.
Step 2: Go insane, burn down the brand down and go all-in on Trump.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

I would’ve been in the market for a Tesla next year. I’m not super anti-Elon, I respect what he’s achieved as an entrepreneur and think there was some basis in his ambitions with DOGE. But man, he’s such a loser. The more I see him the less I want to be associated with him, and Tesla = Elon. Now the Chinese cars seem to be on par with Tesla and cheaper it’s so hard to look elsewhere. I’m not even sure they win the moral argument.
