Either its a template they don’t know how to change or they have too many customers and want to put off the intelligent ones…

It’s distinct from having a separate service charge which is not uncommon, particularly for larger tables.

The line about service not being included means that they’re not charging extra for the service. They’re charging only for food and drinks.

Some places may have a service fee applied to the bill.

It is definitely included. The owners have to pay staff to provide the service to you, bringing the food and such, and therefore have to price menu items that you pay for in a sustainable way for their business. This tip normalisation craic is a cancer, leave that for the US where they can legally pay servers a pittance…

It’s because in some countries – France for example – the restaurant will put ‘service included’ on the bill which indicates that there’s no need to tip.

If you’re coming from abroad it let’s you know that this isn’t the case here

They mean tip, and it’s far better than 12.5% being charged extra as standard which is a total fucking joke in Ireland.
