I just hope they normalise the systems soon so they are more joined up. Currently I’m getting messages via two systems telling me about appointments because of the way the two hospitals I use interact. And then I get other ones from the NHS app relating to my GP.

I do like being able to see actual test results (the numbers not just someone saying ok or not) and if my prescription is being processed (I often got mixed up with which medication I had to get when).
But I do see how hard it is for a lot of other people to do this.

The problem with this is that you will need to have the app and make sure you’re logged in with notifications enabled for it to work.
Every time I try and use the app I find that I’ve been logged out, presumably because I haven’t used it for a while.

It doesn’t even let me view any of my information, so pointless. I’ve requested it the codes to link to my gp practice and they don’t even know what I’m talking about 😖

Yeah that’s great but…
I had 2 tests, 2 weeks ago now.
Not heard back from GP, hospital and nothing on the app.
So it doesn’t always work well at all.

Had a blood test last week, went to my GP surgery first thing in the morning – was told results would take 3-5 working days. My GP sent a text with the results 5pm the same day.
Today got an email telling me my results are available – I checked the app and they are there.

I’m all for peeps getting results faster.
What they do with those results however is another question.

My NHS app won’t work but my Airmid (System Online) one does. The NHS app wants me to input 3 different codes from my GP surgery and I’ve asked them to help me with it 3 times now but it still won’t work. Tbh my account is kinda screwed anyway because I had a new NHS number and it didn’t all transfer over properly. Just hoping it magically fixes itself one day.

My GP uses a site called PatientsKnowBest and about half the time my test results appear there and half the time they appear in the official NHS app. Atleast I can see them somewhere.

I get quarterly bloods and they’ve never been available on the app. It has my full vaccination record, GP appointment history, hospital appointment history.
Not sure how to get access to everything or if I even can.

I get a lot through the app and it’s really good and can see test results have come back in order to follow up with a gp. I’d like to see more appointments going into there.
However,
The problem as ever is the input, the article mentions 8 millions missed appointments, but my daughter has missed 5 this year on the fact we didn’t get any letter, the letter told us it was a telephone appointment – it wasn’t. The wrong hospital, and wrongly sent a cancellation letter.
Admin has long been abysmal for the NHS, and is one of the main problems with any system.
