Inexperienced newly elected Councillors put in charge of massive budgets in critical areas of council work, what could possibly go wrong.
I hate to be that guy but why do they look exactly how I would expect them to look?
This is frightening on a biblical scale. Anyone with any experience of the complexity of delivering public services in such an accountable environment as this would run a mile if they were offered these posts.
Unless they are highly qualified to fill them (they’re not).
or
They, and the people putting them in the posts, are utter morons.
Another symptom of the left not taking immigration seriously enough. Anti-immigration is seen by many as a lower-class or lower-intellect mindset, but the more this carries on, the more traction reform will gain.
If the left sorted mass migration, the we wouldn’t have 19yo’s running children’s services, and we won’t be facing the possibility of Farage as PM.
> Reform councillors aged 19 and 22 in charge of children’s and adult services at local authority
Imagine yourself at 19. I can only imagine how badly I would have fucked up being in charge of anything in government at that age.
A relevant quote”
“In children’s services especially, lead members have statutory responsibilities under legislation like the Children Act 2004, including duties related to the Director of Children’s Services and the Local Safeguarding Children Board”
And just imagine what it’s going to be like if they get into power at the next election.
Joseph Boam does Adult Social Care for Leicestershire despite it being pointed out that he’s made social media posts saying that depression isn’t real
Edited to mention he’s also said Racist things too I’ve just found out, I’m not surprised in the slightest.
If only there was another country collapsing in front of our eyes that we could have used as a warning to not be as gullible and stupid as them.
Gonna be really interesting to see what the Reform voters have to say when all of this goes inevitably goes about as well as the Truss mini budget.
The party of common sense indeed… these two guys don’t even look like they’ve even pulled a girl or boyfriend yet, far less experienced the life lessons of parenthood and accumulated a decades worth of business, budget and management experience..
I despise Reform and everything they represent, but Labour have a twenty three year old MP and no one gives a shit about that.
Average age of those in the control room in charge of putting a man on the moon was 26. They may actually be better than an adult the has become entrenched.
It dawns on me I don’t know anything about local government. I certainly couldn’t tell you what my councillor does, what a councillor even can do, what party they’re from, term length, salary, hours.
I bet 90% of people would say the same.
> Charles Pugsley, 19, who is still at university, has been made cabinet member for children and family services.
Fucking what? I know uni students do work other jobs for income during studies, but how can he even balance two years of uni left, and deal with an incredibly complex social work service?
He does realise if something goes wrong, how much scrutiny and much of a shit storm will land on him?
My suspicion? These were paper candidates plucked with the aim of coming second and making a wave, without realistically thinking they’d win and now they have, will find out Reform does not have experience nor expertise to govern.
I reckon they’ll resign before before they finish their uni course.
