Ciao! Qualsiasi aiuto geolocato sarebbe molto apprezzato 🙂

Looks like a “Christmas Bazaar”, though Xmas was banned, the same celebrations were for new year.

It says it’s for buying pine trees and decorations.

But about the “Where” part. No idea.
That’s no mountainside though. It’s a hill. The trees in the back also won’t be found near our mountains.

It can’t be in Danube valley/Mizia region, apart from that, it could be anywhere. There are no clues whatsoever, generic houses and nothing typical. On the banner I can only see “ГТП-Градска Търговия….” “П” might be a hint for a city like Plovdiv, Pazargjik, Popovo or Panagyurishte. It’s not a village for sure, small town or the outskirts of a city. The lady with the handbag and the beret gives it away. Good Luck!

Judging by the roof I would definitely look for a village in the skirts of the mountain ranges. Problem is, there is the Balkan and the Rodopas.

Game is a bit too easy. 🙂

As for the photo here. Honestly looks like around the Balkans. Looks like a morning, so it should be south of the Balkans likely. But not necessary. At first, I was thinking Troyan 50-60s. But it feels way too little snow or it was a particularly warm winter. (that could help you find at least the year – even if it is near Balkan hills, there should be some snow at that time of the year).

My geussess would be Karlovo, Kazanluk. Don’t think it is Rhodopes.

1970, as given in the site, feels about right. That’s about the beginning of time when color films start to become publicly available here. It can’t be a Christmas tree market because Christmas and every christian holidays were forbidden. Christmas was substituted with the New Year’s celebration. Stone slabs on the roofs are typical for Rila, Pirin, Rodopi or Stara Planina mountains. For the new year’s time and mountain places the lack of snow is strange. For that time of the year the sun is high in the sky. The hill behind the market has a disturbing small vegitation for the slope.
