Dormi in Chata Pri Zelenom plese.
Grazie molto!

Beware there are via ferratas that may be challenging for kids at Priecne sedlo.

Its reasonable. From Zelené pleso to Veľká Svišťovka there are serpentines, so its not as steep as it seems. Priečne sedlo is the steepest. Ive seen kids go through there, but you have to be careful. If you have a heavy backpack, lean against the rocks a little bit. Vysoke tatry/Starý smokovec should have a bunch of parking lots (there should be an indoor one also). You can take the train from there to Lomnica and start from there maybe.
You need to book your accommodation in those place in advance, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no place left for early July at this point.
Day two is a lot of climbing, it depends on how used your kids are to hiking.
Priecne sedlo is considered the hardest/most technical route on the Slovak side of Tatras. [Here](https://www.tatryportal.sk/tura/priecne-sedlo/) are some pics. There are kids that have no problem with this, there are kids who get scared. Same goes for adults, though those tend to be more scared.
For this route you can park at Biela voda (start of the route for day 1) and take a bus/taxi from Stary Smokovec. The parking costs 15e a day and the parking place can be full during the day (better to come early). EDIT: since you’re going only to Zelene pleso it might be actually better to come late. When I sleep there I usually come around 7pm when the daily hikers are gone. The trip takes around two hours.
This with a kid aged 8? Have you done anything like that in the past?
Hi.
You have chosen a great route, but it is quite demanding.
I don’t know what the physical condition of the youngest children is.
The first day is relatively OK. It is just a long climb to the cottage (the cottage at Zelený pleso). This cottage is in a beautiful setting, near the surface of the lake. The views of the surrounding peaks during breakfast through the glass wall are amazing!
The path through Svišťovka is quite steep, but there should be no problematic passage there. It will then continue through the “Zámkovského chata” cottage. You can also sleep here. It is a cottage where there are many tourists during the day, but in the evening it is very pleasant. The cottage has recently been renovated and provides the greatest comfort.
The path to “Téryho chata” is steep in the last third, but without problematic passages. (there is one or two chains)
The cottage is a little more modest than the previous two. But it also has beautiful views.
The passage between the “Téryho chata” and “Zbojnícka chata” huts is the most challenging part of your route. You pass through the “Priečne sedlo”. It is a section with several safety chains. The section is steep and I personally don’t like the “free chains” system, where other tourists pull the chain you hold on to. If you found the “Veľká Svišťovka” crossing difficult and dangerous, then skip the passage through the “Priečne sedlo”.
If you have experience with mountaineering techniques, I would consider taking (at least for the smallest children) a climbing seat and a short (20-30m) rope for belaying in dangerous sections. There is also a via ferrata (A-B difficulty) through the transverse saddle. If you have harnesses and want to carry them up, this is a better option than hanging chains.
If you want to skip the “Priečne sedlo” crossing, you can stay overnight at “Zbojnícka chata”. From this cottage, make a one-day trip to “Téryho chata” and return. The next day, a trip to “Zbojnícka chata” and return.
Parking has already been written – parking lot “Biela voda”. You need to arrive early. The price of parking is high, but it is better to use the official parking lot. As a foreign tourist, you will be an easy target for a fine from the police.
