Actually patrolling areas, enforcing basic traffic laws, and tackling drug dealers, (at all levels).
There seems to be a hands off policy in place at the moment. Maybe the Gardai just can’t be arsed with the amount of paperwork involved in genuinely dealing with crime anymore.
