the villainization of men is done, time to villainize boys!

They used a fictional story, which ignores many of the main causes of violence against girls and women for political reasons. To indocturnate children in schools ?

They clearly don’t understand teenagers. If you tell them not to do something, especially if you are not saying that in general terms but picking out one group in particular, that is the one thing they will definitely do.

just keep pushing people one side over and over they will swing back so far to the other side you will be surprised why there is no liberal men left.

The show isn’t aimed at teenagers, not really. It’s the parents who are disconnected from their children’s lives that are online and unaware of the toxic environment they may be in.

Some day a government somewhere will actually talk to boys as step one. Ask them why they feel the way they do. But for now I guess the lecturing continues.

    7. Looking at the comments, this has triggered the very people with destructive attitudes that the show seeks to remedy.

Using a work of fiction as an educational tool isn’t going to work. Children aren’t stupid, they know fiction does not reflect reality. This will only drive further resentment and a sense of disenfranchisement among young boys.

This is how the far right rises; by the so-called left wing validating its point.

Not a great idea because the show had the unintentional affect off being used to embolden the very people that the show was meant to expose

Probably the worst example you could take. And you don’t need that poor “adaptation of real events” to teach about this.

All in all this is a terrible initiative which is not going to do anything but taking precious school time, already not well used properly, to give a Netflix show repeating customers.

Adolescence isn’t aimed at kids, it’s aimed at parents who heard about incels once during a BBC news cast.

This is as performative and is going to be as usefull as the educational movies about drugs and birth control i was forced to watch as a kid.

I’m sure a group lagging in education outcomes and many other metrics is really going to appreciate authority reaching to them for the sole purpose of telling them their potential danger to others. Even on the topic of toxic masculinity, the idea that it’s just perpetuated by misogynistic TikTok men is completely out of touch with reality when it’s basically everyone in society.

    13. SixEightL on

As if that’s currently the priority in France.

But I’m sure toxic masculinity is the reason behind the PSG “victory celebrations”.

    14. I haven’t seen it but i don’t see why something like this couldnt be a useful basis for discussion about attitudes and behaviour including the Internet. But I hope they also look at it proportionately. I imagine that they are all far more at risk of murder related to gang culture rather than specifically misogyny. And more likely to be killed in a road traffic accident than that?

Always telling young Boys that they’re not good enough surely will have a positive outcome.

    16. It was a pretty good show, and remarkably made, but it’s unfortunately been hijacked into something it’s not.

As usual, double standards, why in this case not condemn bad female behavior? Why not be inclusive?

Are you fucking serious ? We enough probleme here with the woke and feminism….

    19. Codeworks on

If you’ve ever actually watched it, the **entire** takeaway should be that shit like this happens because parents aren’t involved and don’t have a clue. Showing it to kids is literally missing the point.

    20. Sad_Pea2301 on

Why? There’s zero empirical evidence used for this drama.
