“A plastic surgeon has been jailed for life for attempting to murder a colleague he wanted “out of the way” because he was a witness against him in disciplinary proceedings.”

“Mr Perks only survived because of “quick action and amazing surgical skill”, the court had heard.” And apparently only had a 5% chance of survival.

He should have just accepted the disciplinary and moved on with his life. What a pathetic man, a life sentence seems appropriate, hopefully he serves the full sentence.

      >Brooks, who was “voluntarily absent” from his trial because he was on hunger strike

Obviously. Not voluntarily absent from trying to kill someone, was he?

Anyway, a minimum of 22 years is pretty standard for this sort of thing.

The whole case is absolutely crazy – the attacker sounds like he was losing touch with reality well before he hurt anyone.

I hope the verdict brings his victim some peace.

That guy is a comic genius

      >”It is just another interesting chapter in life and I wish his family well,” he said.

      >He said it was “ironic” a surgeon who specialised in burns should “wish to immolate” his family.
