According to national radio ORF Steiermark the shooter killed himself.

Damn, that’s horrible. My thoughts go out to Austria.

Edit: I initially wrote Switzerland, sorry. Geistige Umnachtung.

What the hell. In a sleepy boring old people city this travesty happens.

Edit: This comment got lots of upvotes which surprised me, but what surprised me even more is that shootings like this never happen in central europe atleast it wasnt common at all. Some redditors get very upset when one wishes for such things to not happen and they then go on and assult me by pontificating about useless technicalities weather or not Graz is a sleepy city. Graz is a sleepy and quiet city and i can speak this from experience. If people rather focus on the heartless technicalities than the aftermath of what this tragedy means then they better have a deep introspection with themselves. Feel free to check the comments left by some “well meaning redditors”.

How tf do kids get a gun, especially in Europe of all places. The parents need to be heavily criticized here and possible jail time imo.

Are acquiring guns in Austria as easy as it is in the US ?

Sources are boulevard media and not to be trusted. We know there is something happening, we know there might be someone dead, but everything else is pure speculation. Please don’t feature media like krone or OE24.

Watch Americans try to come in and start saying that if Europeans had “good guys” with guns, this would’ve never happened

Can someone explain why we are getting more and more shootings in Europe? Without blaming it all on immigration, mind you.

      Update from Graz:

No official confirmation regarding the number of dead and injured yet, the police special forces are in the process of clearing the school, staff and students have been evacuated.
A police helicopter is still circling the area, it might not be certain that there was only one perpetrator or that he really did kill himself.
Still lots of ambulance sirens to be heard (I live close to the trauma hospital)

      -Update 1:
7 students dead (including the shooter)
1 adult dead (most likely a teacher)
      -Update 2:
Police state that the situation is under control, they do not anticipate there to be any further danger. I can no longer hear the police helicopter in the area.
      -Update 3:
The perpetrator was a former student, so could have legally owned weapons, depending on his age. He is said to have shot up (for lack of a better word) 2 class rooms. Death toll has risen to 9 according to the ministry or internal affairs.

I currently work about one kilometer away. FH Johanneum. I have never heard so many sirens over such a long period of time. We’ve been hearing sirens continuously for almost two hours now.

I knew after a few minutes that something terrible must have happened.

What is happening to this world? Not a week goes by without some major tragedy.

I thought with the tariffs we were going to avoid importing stuff from the US.

Never thought this can happen in Austria, but even less in the city it happened. 10 years ago something similar happened in Graz, but it was a car amok run which killed 4 people, and that was pretty extreme and once in a lifetime I thought.

But in fact, this happened 2 km away from me and my school, and my school is even larger.

I’m so devastated by the thought of their parents , omg it’s so terrible , who would expect such a tragedy to unfold in Austria . And the cunt offed himself in the end, coward piece of shit

„ Styria governor Mario Kunasek (FPÖ) said: “”What happened today in Graz is incomprehensible. As Governor of Styria and as a father, I am deeply saddened by this insane act, which has caused so much harm and incredible suffering. My thoughts are with the innocent victims, families, and teachers.”

Kunasek comfortably ignoring that his political party creates an evironment of hate and bullying wherever they are.
