This is exactly what everyone who knew the situation said from the start. We are giving land to Mauritius and then paying them too…which will help service their debt to China. All the while the chagossians are scattered and don’t have a voice.
They should have been given the cash and the choice
Let them take it up with Mauritius, see if they are as stupid as our Governments are.
I wonder if Labour will actually listen to this or just go ahead with their existing deal ignoring the Chagossians yet again?
If we need it for the whole security and army base part, why are we even giving it away? I thought it didn’t even have a population anymore and the people we were giving it to aren’t even related?
