    1. **Key Findings**

      * In 2023, median household net wealth was €256,900, up €58,500 or 29.5% since 2020 when it was €198,400.

      * More than two-thirds (67%) of all households owned their main residence in 2023, either with or without a mortgage. The median value of the residence was €340,000, an increase of €80,000 or 30.8% from the 2020 value of €260,000.

      * The households’ main residence made up almost half (46%) of gross household wealth.

      * The wealthiest 10% of households had a net wealth of at least €1,024,000, the highest ever seen in this survey which began in 2015, while the bottom 10% had at most €2,400.

      * Owner-occupiers had a median net wealth of €391,600 in 2023 compared with €10,200 for those who rented.

      * Households where the reference person was aged under 35 were the only age group to see a fall in median net wealth from €27,600 in 2020 to €23,400 in 2023, whereas those aged 65 and over had a value of €404,200.

      * The Eastern & Midland region had the highest median net wealth at €264,400 in 2023 followed by the Southern region at €251,700, and the Northern & Western region at €239,000.

      * Two-thirds (66%) of households had some form of debt in 2023, down from 69% in 2020. The median value of such debt was €34,600, up from €25,000 in 2020.

      in dublin you can see how wealth is soaring for some people by the amount of expensive cars on the road, literally everyday i see an insane amount of range rovers and porsches that all cost more than 100k

      Yea, property prices are heading up so anybody who owns a home technically is increasing in net wealth whether or not their standard of living is improving or reducing.

      Has wealth inequality between  households grown over the period or decreased?

      It looks like Public Sector Pensions, which would be worth 1m+ in equivalent wealth for nearly everyone that is towards the back end of their career, are not factored in.

      I like the infographic’s suggestion that the houses have gotten bigger as wealth increases.

      The size of the houses should be staying the same or going down over time.
