Grazie!

In my old apartment we had internet connection to a socket that looked like 3.
I’ll skip explaining #1 – #5.
your assumption about the multimedia extension is correct.
it should look like [this.](https://www.haus.de/sites/default/files/styles/16_9_content_full_lg/public/2022-05/multimediadose.jpg).
so what means the connected cable in socket #1 is working in fritz.box overview?
show a screenshot
btw: correct sub would be /r/fritzbox
>The installation guide leads me to believe that a multimedia socket with 2 sockets is for tv and radio, and the data socket requires a multimedia extension
the technician usually changes that socket if that’s the case. 1+2 are your cable connection. 3 would be DSL but some wires are off, i think 4 are these missing copper wires. 5 could also be DSL or a very old ISDN port. your last picture shows a coax cable, you’ll use that for cable TV or Internet later
You have to get an Multimedia Adapter. 3 ports. Data TV and radio. It will fit on your outlet in pic 1 and 2
If you indeed subscribed to a Cable connection and not a DSL connection, then it’s definitely 1 (or 2 since they should be connected together and break out the same signal but with a different plug type).
3 (and 4 even though I don’t see what it really is besides a bunch of cables sticking out of 3) is for the legacy landline telephone copper line. It could serve a basis for an ADSL/VDSL connection but since you’ve got a Cable modem I imagine it’s not the case here.
5 looks like a domino breakout, so I imagine it’s not for multimedia but it actually carries 230V.

u need to call ur provider or ur landlord, they have to change the socket in picture 2 to the new model
1 is for cable internet and 2 for cable tv
none of these. you dont have a socket for it. to know if you apartment is ready for cable internet, simply look at the tv socket. the tv/internet socket should have 3 or more jacks. you only have tv and satelite.
but you can call your provider and they will send you a technician who will then turn your tv socket into a data socket, for free. dont worry, you can still watch tv. the data has its own jack.
Doesn’t Germany have Fiber Optics?
