Is Giannis really the only Greek player in the league right now?

    1. I can’t think of any Greek player that could have a bright future in NBA aside Nikos Galis. I do not get where you see this ” much talent “. Who ?

We have some good players but for Europe. Even Sasha Vezenkov didn’t succeed.

Greek players that play on the highest level of the Euroleague failed to succeed in the NBA, one that comes to mind is Papagiannis, who is just tall, but also Spanoulis, who is one of the best to ever play in the Euroleague, he also failed to succeed. While he is not Greek, Vezenkov is half Cypriot – half Bulgarian and grew up in Cyprus if I’m not mistaken, he could have easily become a Greek citizen as well (Cypriots are very similar to Greeks), he also failed, and he has been in the top 3 best players in the Euroleague all the seasons he played there.

I’m not into basketball, but I really do not understand how 2 of the best players to have played in the Euroleague in the last 10 years did not get any spotlight in the NBA.

    4. Isn’t Giannis’ brother in the NBA too? If so then he isn’t the only one. And i think the third brother is aiming for the NBA too.

Tristan Vukcevic is elligible for a greek passport since his father played in Greece when he was born iirc, but he isnt exactly greek. Also there are some prospects in the NCAA like Andrej Stojaković (half greek from his mother’s side) and Neoklis Avdalas that could be drafted this year. But in general no, except for Giannis greek basketball doesnt produce NBA players for a while now.
