Please can someone explain to me what makes an invasion into the territory of a foreign sovereign country that has not shown any aggression towards the invader *necessary*? These people are fascists and wannabe warmongers. It’s despicable.

Edited to add: The territory of a foreign sovereign country that has been a founding member of the NATO since 1949, in this case. It’s insane.

TBF, the pentagon has plans for everything. An invasion by aliens and an outbreak of a zombie apocalypse.

I wouldn’t get upset about a contingency plan.

Russia and USA are planning of dividing Europe between themself it seem.

We should ignore that and return fight among ourself for truly vital matters like fish, and railways standards.

Division and egoism will be our salvation

The United States must stop considering itself an ally of Europe at this point.

What’s the point of the contingency? That you can ‘accidentaly’ invade a country yourself?

I hope NATO steps up and kicks the US out, if that’s the case.

    7. Well, I guess we should all step back slowly from the USA and get our own defense without any part of their crap online asap.

This is no ally and Americans are no friends.
They are trade partners at best.

Why does Hegseth have so much to say. You would think someone in charge of the military would talk a lot less.

      America is this weak now

only able to threaten invading Canada and Greenland

Well, sure, but I bet you have contingency plans to invade any country(or place), so this is just a pathetic gun rattling more akin to Russia…

It’s all fun and games until a US Carrier eats a ASMP-A

I mean yeah. Technically speaking, they will have plans to invade pretty much everybody. They will have warplans for Monaco and Liechtenstein too.

Not really sure what their grand plan is. Is it supposed to act as a smoke screen for something else, to lull somebody into thinking some particular way, or what is their deal? Is this grandstanding? Is it supposed to act as a deterrent that if somebody else moves in, then the US will take it from them by force? You’d think that it was more of a deterrent and beneficial for both to show you’re the best buddies and are working strongly together so anybody having any sinister ideas better not even think about doing anything against Greenland. But no, we have this strange thing instead. Do they even know what they’re doing?

    14. These plans definitely existed way before Trump. They also have had plans to invade the Netherlands if nessary since Bush (if the ICJ decides to trial a US soldier)

    15. sandokando on

Why is this not perceived as an act of war by the puppet EU?

If they try Greenland, then Canada needs to be on the lookout for USA taking their rare earths.

Good thing that Denmark has just allowed the US to set up military bases in their country. That could be useful for an invasion. Keep Denmark in check in their own country during this time.

And Denmark is a nato member that would invoke article 5…….
