I dont know what he’d make of it… but I know what I make of it.
Its so embarrasing. Mortifying actually to see the faces of visitors to Ireland arriving into an airport with the infrastructural links of a third world country.

Sure why not ask Bluey and Homer Simpson as well, get a few opinions before we leap to judgment.

Was in Berlin recently and half the streets were dug up to put in tram lines which are on half the streets anyway. Along with multi line metro.
The city is hugely spread out whereas Dublin’s centre is very small.
We also don’t allow Uber so even fewer options. It’s like a different world.

We should have one by now, however most other European countries were not poor. We were poor until 30-40 years ago

Who, honestly, gives a flying fuck what a fictional character, from a novel written donkeys years ago, would make of the fact that Dublin doesnt have a metro?
Wickerman, maybe, but that’s it.

The people who care about what Leopold Bloom would think are most likely the same people who object to any sort of progress in Dublin.
I am specifically looking at the residents of Ranelagh.

Might have been an idea a decade or so ago. Now though, there is too much red tape, the cost would spiral. The best anyone could hope now is for some sort of rail link to dublin airport. There is a reason the government don’t mention it, it is just not viable at the moment.

Don’t build a metro until teenager crime is not resolved, can you imagine what is going to be happening in the underground?

Together with the passenger cap in Dublin, not to mention the absolute mess of getting in and out of Dublin airport 🤦🏻♂️ it just gets worse and worse the more you think of it.
The taxi stand isn’t well organized at all, many other cities you’ll have multiple rows whereas in Dublin it’s one single line for taxis to line up 🤦🏻♂️, or you organize with a taxi terminal and you get out of there right away. At the busiest times you still have to queue after getting off a flight to get a taxi which will likely take forever as well!
Things like this don’t randomly happen it’s NIMBY-ism, greed, small mindedness by people who don’t want change, it’s corruption that allows these major projects to keep failing it’s all a fucking joke!

He’d be upset but he’d walk it off.

This will actually be a good thing with the dawn of automated taxis and driving.

What a bizarre article. It’s mostly just a retelling of Ulysses, with very little about the Metro
Might he a silly question but whatbis the difference between a metro and say, the luas?

In 2025 as in 1904, Joyce was right.
The Belgrade and Zagreb erasure…
