There are 3 bed houses available in Ballyfermot for 280k.
Ballyfermot community Creche beside the pool is about the cheapest you’ll get in the country.
You can work near Ballyfermot or in the city centre area and be in town on bus in under 30mins from the Creche. Buses about every 7 minutes.
That also puts all the restaurants of Dublin 30mins out your door.
So now you’ve a cheaper mortgage. You don’t have 2 cars on the road. You’ve a cheaper Creche and you’ve saved yourself hours to enjoy life.
You are not priced out of Dublin.
Your expectations are not aligned with your reality.
We have the inner suburbs populated by wealthy retirees who rarely leave the area, where nothing new is allowed to be built for fear of upsetting the NIMBYs. Then we have all the actual workers who have to travel to the city living in outer suburbs or different counties getting up at stupid hours and clogging up the roads. Something has to give.
