Job centres should be required to write down every bit of stupid finance advice they give so that when *they* wrongly advise *they* get to repay it/eat the cost. You’d think giving out accurate info would be one of the basic standards they’d hold themselves to.
And surely all benefits should have the tapered method? On UC when you have a good you lose so-many pence per £1 you earn. Even if for other benefits they did it pound-for-pound it’d be better than the cliff-edge situation where £1 over your threshold and you’re off it, if it was tapered then people could actually help themselves. But that’s not the point is it? It’s just one big punishment system.
