Let’s be honest, Macron is ensuring Greenland is staying within the European sphere of influence. As French companies are likely to eventually win mining agreements throughout Greenland
It’s not by chance it’s France, rather than the UK, Spain or Germany doing this display of support.
As European I like Macron.
Of course he is not as ballsy as Zelensky. And could definitely do more.
But compared with the rest of EU leaders he looks reasonable good.

We agreed to host American troops (EXCLUSIVELY ON THE PART OF DENMARK THE CAPITOL ISNT ON)… in airbases and garrisons.
You know… like in Korea and Japan… and like them, we’re explicitly not allwed to punish them for crimes.
I doubt I’d need to pull up sexual assult statistics on American Army bases, for you to get the picture…
I cannot stretch this enough… I will have friends, who will have to walk home at night, knowing American goons might do whatever to them, and be literally immune from punishment, or even fucking detainment.
Plenty are likely just folks who wanted their only viable way to government funded healthcare… doesnt change the fact we will have a garrison of foregn troops, whos government explicitly said theyd use war “if need be” to get Greenland.

Macron lead negitiations with Putin in the early stages of the war in Ukraine, and achieved nothing.
Honestly he lacks the leadership and the charisma, while France lacks the raw military and diplomatic power. He should stop embarass himself this way.
A united Europe can successful try to oppose US and Russia, not single nations. A common political strategy is needed, not single cases of grandeur.

In a sign of Greenland’s growing importance, French President Emmanuel Macron is visiting the Arctic island today, in what experts say is a show of European unity and a signal to Donald Trump.
Stepping foot in the capital Nuuk this morning, Macron will be met with chilly and blustery weather, but despite the cold conditions, he’ll be greeted warmly.
“This is big, I must say, because we never had visits from a president at all, and it’s very welcomed,” says veteran Greenlandic official, Kaj Kleist.
Nuuk is a small city of less than 20,000 people, and the arrival of a world leader and his entourage, is a major event.
“I think that people will be curious, just hearing about it,” says consultant and podcast host Arnakkuluk Jo Kleist. “I think they’ll be interested in, what his message is going to be.”
“He’s the president of France, but he’s also an important representative of Europe. It’s a message from the European countries that they’re showing support, that Greenland is not for sale, and for the Kingdom of Denmark,” says Arnakkuluk Jo Kleist.
