    1. US is experiencing a drastic fall in European touristvisits, down by more than fifteen percent, with Donald Trump’s return to the White House stoking escalating political tensions and worldwide anxiety. European tourists, shaken by Trump’s contentious policies, strained global relationships, and increased border scrutiny, are shying away from visiting America. This precipitous decline not only indicates broad disapprobation of the U.S. current political climate but also exposes the country’s economy to substantial risks, with tourism being one of its major earners.

The global travel landscape is undergoing a dramatic shift, with profound consequences for one of the United States’ most vital economic sectors: tourism. Over the past several months, a growing wave of European travelers has been quietly turning away from American destinations. This trend is not the result of natural disasters, pandemics, or economic downturns but rather stems from deepening political unease triggered by the return of Donald Trump to the White House.

Even more of a boycott by us here in Canada. Though considering how we’ve been treated, it’s frankly disgusting to me that as many of us are still choosing to go there as there still are.

That’s not a surprise. I already distrusted the US police and the TSA staff. That has only become worse, so no way I am going to the USA now.

Will be interesting to see what happens for the World Cup.

Realistically, we are still seeing the tail end of planned and paid for visits.

I’d quite happily lay money that the 15% is just a start as people find alternatives to going to US. It’s hardly a relaxing holiday thinking about having to navigate US immigration (and the possible mystery accommodation and mystery tour to an unknown country that follows.)

Again, this has nothing to do with Trump, it’s simply common sense. It doesn’t matter whether you’re European, Australian or a green man from Mars. It is simply extremely risky traveling to the US. You can be arbitrarily detained at the border and sent to jail for no reason. It’s not worth it.

    7. I see people use the word boycott, but it is more of “you don’t want to take the risk. due to US gov policy”. This is quite interesting as the dollar has fallen, making the US a more desirable destination.

Let us see what happens during the world cup.

I hear El Salvador is lovely this time of year. So the generous offer of a bonus trip there as well as the US is pretty tempting.

Frankly, I’m surprised that it’s only 15%. Who in their right mind would still travel to the US unless they can’t avoid it?

I have a flight to the US from Lisbon in August to visit my son and the plane still has over half the seats available, and this is during peak travel season. Last year the seats were mostly gone by this time.

Guess it’s more about experiencing culture, less about living the American dream

I really wonder who wants to go to the US right now unless it’s a professional necessity. Every foreigner risks being detained by dumbass ICE meatheads if they don’t like your face.

those were mostly visits that were already planned, we’ll surely see those numbers go up over the next months.
