The absolute gaul for being charged for someone to tell you about a war 5000 miles away that you’re already funding with your own tax money

I’ve had dealing with BBC Worldwide and its clear that they’re too wedded to the UK licence for income and too shy to capitalise on their popularity outside the UK and make money.
They could make enough money outside the UK with their content to fund anything they want and even reduce the licence fee in the UK. They need to operate more like a business and less like a government arm, especially in international markets.

Free access to impartial news is the core of the BBC’s global soft-power. It must remain free to be perceived as impartial.
However, a global subscription to BBC Sounds & iPlayer for entertainment is an excellent idea. I would pay 10 quid a month for that.
