Grazie in anticipo!

Usually road salt (in my region) against snow and ice

They contain grit for spreading over icy roads in Winter.

There is a sort of gravel (very small rocks) inside we use to put on the streets to give our shoes and wheels more grip.

there is grit (or salt?) in there for snow covered streets

  5. Those are grit boxes. Communal workers use the grit when it’s icy.
I have also seen sweepers putting trash in there which is then collected by Trucks later.

Ever wondered where rainbows end? Well, that’s not where, but you can find something useful for winter in there.

Grit for slippery surfaces in the winter.

They tend to be made of glassfiber like the one on the picture, sometimes you see small silos as well for refilling small sideway gritters on the go.

I see you are in Munich. These boxes are usually for salt or sand to defrost the streets in Winter.

HOWEVER, there is one homeless guy near Theresienwiese, who got one of these boxes for himself. He stores empty bottles (Pfand) in it. (I don’t know how he got access for the box. But he is well known in Munich)

Mobile coffins. They put tourists there who don’t put their rubbish in the right recycling bins….

They are usually plastic (this one for certain) it´s filled with split – small stones you can put on the road if there is ice or snow. Usually you seem them mostly ad steep inclines so people can use it to make it up with ice .

A lot of people are going to try and tell you there’s gravel inside, for road maintenance in winter.

In truth, these are the sarcophagi of ancient, undead warriors which will rise in times of dire need to defeat the forces of the underworld.

I opened one once it has dirt like gravel, I think it’s there for when it gets icy. I have one at my local station and interestingly that one has what seems to be salt, it looks like salt and it’s white, but I haven’t tasted it of course.

    1. It‘s not metal, it‘s plastic
    2. used to store gravel or salt for winter time

Don’t you play any videogames. That’s where you dispose the bodies.
