The drawings are already live and available on [corklimerick.ie](https://corklimerick.ie), although the interactive map isn’t quite working for me.
No real surprises I don’t think from the earlier periods, largely keep to the previously identified corridor. These do include more information on the active travel components (although those aren’t really ‘detailed’ as promised) and the new P&R facilities.
It’s good to see those motorway adjacent small P&R/car share lots being included, they’re common in other countries but we haven’t got many of them, one in Navan I think? Maybe a missed opportunity not to tie them in with motorway plazas/service stations, but those aren’t part of these plans so hard to say.

Great news, it will be a transformational piece of infrastructure when complete.
The next sensible thing would be to push on with the Atlantic Corridor motorway, Bertie promised in 2005.
It would make sense to have decent roads leading to Galway as they continue to centralise services at Galway University Hospital and downgrade services in other areas of the West and North West.
The current status quo of making sick and dying people travel for 3 to 5 hours for treatment should be a national scandal. But it’s not because everyone is just numb to it, accept third world service as the norm and in general just expect to be treated appalling.

Via Kenmare and the Healy Raes have the contact.

This road should have been done ages ago. It should be a major motorway connecting 2 of the biggest cities in the country but there are stretches of the current road going through town centers and windy bits down hills.
This is a good step but they could also do with improving the transport options between the 2. It’s nigh impossible on public transport to get from one to the other after 10pm or if you have to the other early for a work commute.

« Additionally, the project team recommended the development of a “no change” additional hourly rail service between the two cities, via Limerick Junction, reducing intercity rail journey times by over 20 minutes between Cork and Limerick. »
No direct Cork – Limerick line? Looked at the old comparison picture between the 1920s and 2020s, one of the things that no longer exists is a more direct route.
