Sono uno studente dei Paesi Bassi che studia giornalismo. Dobbiamo visitare Malta e cercare notizie. Dovremo trovare problemi che i residenti incontrano per fare una produzione. Ho già preso un appuntamento con i tempi di Malta per vedere come funzionano le notizie in questo, per me, un paese sconosciuto, ma sono ancora in cerca.
Ho trovato scorrere attraverso detto sito di notizie che a volte i turisti tendono a comportarsi male (ia questo articolo: https://timesofmalta.com/article/watch-tourist-kicks-barrier-electricity-wires-posts-tiktok.1111536 ) Ora mi chiedevo se questo fosse un problema comune, o questo non è davvero accaduto così spesso. Vedendo come alcuni altri paesi europei parlano come non vogliono far entrare i turisti, le persone maltesi lo vedono allo stesso modo?
Infine, voglio chiedere se c’è qualcos’altro che pensi sia qualcosa che la notizia, o altri paesi europei, non parlare di ciò accade a Malta ed è “degno di nota”. Grazie per l’aiuto !!

There was a goat running through a roundabout a week ago
Our problem is construction and noise pollution everywhere. Not to mention lack of safety and building collapsing. Latest example was last week in paceville. In this country no one is responsible, and everything is forgotten.
You won’t be disappointed… lots of angles for you to cover 🙂 Authorities talk about quality tourism, but in reality we do everything possible to attract any kind of visitor – so you’ll find a little bit of everything here. The target is 4.5 million tourists a year within a decade (madness)… We already exceeded 3M/year – so that target is evidently a conservative one. For context the population is estimated to be around 600k at the moment on a 316 sq km rock. So attracting x5 tourists is madness if you ask me. Clearly unsustainable, but it’s predominantly a real estate push. Since there’s no planning/moratorium on building hotels or adding floors, the beds need to be filled somehow. Majority of tourists are not totally satisfied (don’t mind the official stats), locals becoming less hospitable. Viscous circle.
Malta Tourism Authority (=VisitMalta) just did a crazy campaign targeting TikTokkers, asking them to:
“Share challenges, creators will post in real-time across TikTok and Instagram, with challenges that lean into Gen Z behaviours like trend- chasing, co-creation and chaotic spontaneity”
Now every day there has been a news report of TikTokkers misbehaving. 🙂 🙂 I’ll send you a PM.
