Potentially 2 of the most irritating people on TV, almost certainly the bbc.

    2. Groffulon on

      Quote from the article,

“To the viewer BBC Breakfast is a warm, gentle programme, one that is flourishing in the ratings. But beyond the cosy red sofa it is a very different picture. Several people — crew, production and even presenters — have been very unhappy,” an insider said.

Lmao you can feel the rage and distaste every moment these two are on screen and if you read the article it is their boss Richard Frediani who is the problem. Good for Naga for speaking up. I hope their tension isn’t because Charlie disagrees…

She’s always come across about as agreeable as a bout of thrush.

    4. romanlooksstrong on

I never know what it is with these two, they always seem like they’re very short with each other, but then they’ve worked together so long you’d think if they actually hated each other one would give up and go work for Sky or ITV or something?

In 2025 it shouldn’t happen – people have a chain of command and this should be sorted by raising it higher or with HR.

Not saying it doesn’t happen elsewhere but this big issues with bullying and atmospheres in the entrainment industry especially because people are so scared about losing their jobs – it’s a cut throat industry with a lot of part time/contract work which means people take shit to survive.

Pretty much you also begin at the bottom usually as a runner or similar and do hours of crap jobs and such until you can get ahead. And it’s normalised and shouldn’t be

This used to be very watchable in the Days of Bill Turnbull and sian/louise. There was genuine chemistry. Now Id rather eat my own young than watch this misery fest.
The powers that be have chickened out for too long, get a grip people!

People say she has a very deadpan dry sense of sarcasm, and I can see it, but sometimes shes so awkward she just comes across as a prick.

      Hes just flat

    8. Conscious-Cake6284 on

I love Naga, the most prickly woman on TV.

Plus the kind of people who comment on local newspapers hate her, so automatically I love her.

    9. WeRW2020 on

At the first sign of any controversy BBC presenters should be out the door.

I’m broadly in favour of the BBC, but it boils my piss how much they pay the ‘talent,’ especially when there are so many people wanting to break into the industry.

My mate went to school with her.

Said her and her sister were massive arseholes. Basically what she portrays on TV.

Why is it so hard for some people to not be cunts at work?

He’s a humorless dullard, and she huffs her own farts like a jonesing crack addict.

    13. TheJuiceyJuice on

Poorly written article. The tension isn’t between Charlie and Naga. Using a crystal ball, time and sheer determination I think I’ve managed to figure out that the tension is between them, some other staff and their Editor(?), Fredi / Frediani.

    14. PYOCanoe on

Hard to respect Naga after she berated somebody for not watching that Netflix show Adolescence, she came across as a real tool and her radio show doesn’t help that either

    15. bourton-north on

      This article is really weak.

      – the editor is accused of being tyranical and some people have complained – sounds plasusible but this is where the “meat” ends

      – there is tension between the two presenters we are told – but this is not substantiated by *anything* and doesn’t even appear linked to the main headline of the bullying editor

      – Munchetty apparently is keen to speak up when things are wrong, has apparantly spoken to the people who feel bullied… but there is nothing about her “speaking up”. So… whats that?

    16. ElectronicBruce on

I do love how many just comment by looking at the headline, just like the newspapers want you to.

      It’s not beef between them.

    17. rndreddituser on

It’s the Standard, much like content in the Mail, it’s just purely speculative and, I use the term very loosely, gossip masquerading as journalism. No different to Heat, Hello, etc. Probably clickbait for ad revenue. Nothing to see or read here. I’m surprised that people still fall for this stuff. Well, unless they’re bots / users promoting such stories for ad revenue (this does happen).

    18. plasterscene on

The sex between those two must be mental. Equal measures of lust and hatred boiling over behind the recycling bins.

    19. Stopped watching properly years ago but she’s always come a cross and ready for a fight, and Charlie has gotten increasingly (no Fs to give) I don’t think HR need to get involved (it’s the BBC so they’ll just recommend a cover up) let’s just let them keep fighting it out, make it a feature. Might make mornings interesting again.

    20. Apprehensive_Bus_543 on

Who would have thought working in an organisation that continually sheds jobs and is in terminal decline would cause problems.

    21. Jonseroo on

So they are both just falling out with the editor, not each other as the headline unfairly implies?

Naga was on RIchard Osman’s House of Games and she was lovely when she didn’t have a job to do, if a bit over competitive, which was fun to watch.

I don’t get the hate for her. She’s just got a shtick of not suffering fools gladly. Maybe I find that endearing because my wife is the same.

    22. AdFamous1351 on

I like Naga and Charlie. I massively dislike the beard and glasses guy though.

    25. BachgenMawr on

It’s very telling that the majority of comments are people talking about how much they’ve always disliked Naga etc, but the article is about a complaint from studio staff to the editor. There’s no suggestion of any wrongdoing from Naga in the article as far as I can tell.

I can’t see anything wrong with Naga that’s so worth people disliking her this much. Beyond her beyond a confident 50 year old woman that is..

    26. andrew0256 on

If Naga Muncheti is accusing someone of bullying he or she should be getting a medal. Ms M is one of those who has to have the last word.

    27. God why does everyone in this sub have opinions about them. “Oh I hate him”, “Oh I love her” FFS these people read the goddamn news! Who actually gives a fuck?!

    28. guessiwrite on

She’s always annoyed me. She comes across as aloof and seems like a pain in the arse to deal with. He feels like set dressing. An old school presenter who is efficient and doesn’t fuck up. Consumate professional with zero personality.

However, no one should be bullied, and the outward persona’s aren’t necessarily indicative of their actions.

    29. Average-UK-Chap on

Munchetty is always at the centre of some sort of drama – she’s a fecking nightmare!

    30. heppyheppykat on

Why are all the top comments from people who haven’t read the article lol

    31. >’tensions rife’ between Naga Munchetty and Charlie Strayt

I don’t know about this part, I regularly see them together outside the BBC when I’m out on a run. I think they wouldn’t be spending breaks together if this was the case? But that’s just my assumption

    32. solve-for-x on

What an oddly written article. The subheading indicates that the problem lies with the editor of the programme. Then the first few paragraphs claim there is tension between Naga and Charlie, without any further elaboration. Then it returns to the theme of the editor being the problem. The stuff about Naga and Charlie appears to be entirely unconnected to the rest of the article, like it’s been copy and pasted from a completely different article.

Did the author intend to mean that there exists tension between the editor and the presenting duo, rather than between the presenters themselves?
