Hasnt city west hotel been used for IPA’s for the last decade or more? At this stage buying it just makes sense

The whole Citywest debate has a bang of the M50 toll issue off it. Being sold then bought then sold then bought and the obscene amount of money being paid by the tax payer.

It’s a shocking waste of the hotel. When you think of what was held there annually, Disney on ice, the darts, Irish dancing worlds, along with all the concerts and stuff, providing employment locally.

    4. Hmm.. I live there and never had any problem with the refugees there – other than they taking the seats in the LUAS when I go to work 🙂 – but the protestors are not wrong in saying that the number of residents has practically doubled over the last 10 years and not a single amenity has been added. And there are more apartments about to be finished this autumn.

Narrator: it was, in fact, about race and colour.

Concerned citizens in Saggart tend to be financed by the Coldwater Lakes mob of Mansfield loggers. The town has a central Dunnes, cafes, restaurants “but no hotel” 🤣

      >This isn’t about race or colour

Not a single big protest like this anywhere in the country since 2022 *wasn’t* about race and colour. Not one. They’d burn the hotel rather than watch it become an IPAS center.

The downvoters would be happy to point out one big protest that *actually* wasn’t, I’m sure.

If it’s not about race or colour then why aren’t you out en mass demanding that our absentee government immediately builds the amenities your town needs?

I understand that the government wants ro take in refugees BUT the government MUST make developments to the cities, towns, and villages where the refugees will be located because they will affect these places.

They will need jobs. They will need medical treatments. They will need dental services. They will need schools for their children. If the government does nothing to help produce these, the local people will have WORSE LIVES.

The government MUST wake up and start acting like one.

“This isn’t about race or colour. This is about our community.”

That’s pretty much the same as saying “I’m not a racist, BUT….”

Sure hope it’s not about race because there is only one human race. Our differences are very superficial.

Why doesn’t government listen to locals who literally through tax paying enable this to happen? Are they taking a piss?

Don’t worry it will only be used for 1 year for 7 years like the other temporary money facto- I mean IPAS accommodation
