    Viola Amherd ha mentito al pubblico sul vero costo dell’F-35

      It’s clear that Viola Amherd and the defense department downplayed the total cost of the F-35 deal during the referendum campaign back in 2020. The figure that was pushed, around 6 billion CHF, didn’t include long-term maintenance, upgrades, or the infrastructure changes needed to operate the jets. When you add all that up, the real cost is much higher, potentially over 15 billion CHF over the lifetime of the program.

      For Switzerland, that’s not just a rounding error… it’s a massive public investment based on misleading information. Whether you’re for or against the F-35, shouldn’t we expect more transparency from our government, especially when it’s about military spending?

      Why did you felt like you had to edit the title from “US F-35 jets could cost Switzerland ‘more than CH1 billion extra’”?

      Just to pile up on Viola Amherd? Especially as it’s something she got handed that dossier when she took over the department 9 months before the votation? And that all of these additional cost came in 4 years AFTER we voted?

      I’m not a fan and disagree with so much of the Defense department politics, but if you’re really surprised that a defense contract balloon, I have bad news. Personally, that was expected. I’ve voted against these.
