      An effective approach would be if you are a parent with a child you are responsible for the type of content it consumes. If you fail in your responsibility it’s not anyone else’s fault. The same way parents are legally blamed for the actions of their children, this should be one of them.

      They didn’t really win anything. It’s just a procedural delay. The age verification will be enforced in France.

    3. there is no such thing as an underage internet user. all subscribers to an internet connection are old enough to *legally* watch porn. it’s their responsibility that their connection is not accessed by anyone who shouldn’t use it.

      Regardless of whether it is moral or not, I don’t understand, did PH caved in or did the governement took a step back?

    5. In my opinion, governments should have been responsible for creating digital ID, with anonymous age verification and such. 

      They’re pawning the problem off on the market with “you’re smart. You can do it.” Then they complain that digital monopolies have too much power.

      I’ve heard advocates claim companies could use the same technology used for ad tracking to guess a user’s age. Besides being available only to multinational giants, there are lots of reasons this is a bad idea. 

      Do your job.
