      I plan on building a space port in cavan, I have no money or land. Will rte and a Sunday newspaper run the story for me?

      I doubt the realism of such cost estimates

      Could they not just do something about all the empty shopfronts on the main street in Athlone. It looks awful.

      Just build houses no need for this type of stuff right now. Bigger things to worry about than a 5 billion plan, especially when we can’t stick to a budget.

      Maths was never my best subject but doesn’t this mean 5 students per bed? I know one big aspect of going to college is supposed to discovering yourself but this is pretty adventurous even for students.

      Am I misremembering, but wasn’t there a ‘plan’ from 15/20 years ago for the Chinese to build a city in Athlone?

      What is it about Athlone that is appealing for these sorts of ideas?

      Moved to athlone for college.

      There is nothing in the town that is not drinking. It’s just pubs. There are other activities but you’ll need to find transport and pay the fee, which equates to a kidney in value.

      CAN WE PLEASE GET SOMETHING FUN IN THE TOWN THAT IS NOT ALCOHOLISM. I go gym seen all the local museums around the spot. Even the public walks are just depressing there.

      “New student village” HA. I’m sure there’ll be loads of students happy to pay up to 2K just to move into the spot and then pay their first months rent in 4 weeks after that. Then come next semester do it all again. Idk how people living in student accom can pay that and still have time to study.

      This won’t happen.

      Look at the Japanese offer to build a metro, look at eircom park etc.

      FFG won’t let anyone else get credit for something that would transform the country.
