It’s amazing how Ireland has been a tad below replacement level since 1991 but gone from 3.5 million to almost 5.5 million since then.

It’s amazing when you consider that it had dipped to 2.82 million in 1961. So it’s almost doubled (x1.93) in 64 years.

With Northern Ireland’s population now at about 2 million Ireland is still below pre-famine levels of around 8 million. Most European countries are well above their 1840s population.

    5. 2022 census had population at 5.14 million.
Does.this.mean the population increased by 300000 in just the space.of.a year?

      What is it now

This is due to us having a *relatively* high birth rate (because you’re all roides, and can’t stay off each other), and a high immigration rate (because Ireland’s a proper roide and everyone wants to come here).

I’m not doing my part (or I am, if you want to be literal) so if someone could make 2.1 babies to make up the slack, fair play.

If it’s racist to say I don’t care anymore, I don’t want to be a minority in my own fucking country
