And third country asylum plans aren’t uncommon at all.

bit rich really coming from a country that sighed the exact same deal with Italy and were more than happy with it. I suspect he has the lip on because he is asking for more cash than the Government is willing to pay. Meloni gets on pretty well with Starmer and she has probably told him how much her deal is costing Italy. I suspect Albania tried to gouge a bit to much out of us and got caught.

Hilarious how people complain about boat crossings when that makes up maybe 10% of the immigration compared to dodgy visas and overstayers (who also often end up claiming asylum themselves).

We should just say until Albanians stop claiming asylum in the UK it’s clearly too unsafe for Brits to holiday there and stop all direct flights.

It’s wild how quick people are to point fingers when both sides share blame, Albania’s smuggling issues don’t excuse the UK’s inhumane asylum policies. Third-country plans might be common, but that doesn’t make them ethical or effective. Maybe leaders should focus on fixing root causes instead of trading barbs.
