


Oggi mi sono fermato dal memoriale di Veronica Guerin a The Naas Road. Sarebbe bello se fosse più visibile in quanto la sua morte è una parte significativa della recente storia irlandese, la maggior parte delle persone che la passano non sa nemmeno che è lì, il che è un peccato.

I’m actually shocked that that’s how small and unassuming her memorial is.
Maybe it’s on purpose but if it’s not, there should absolutely be something more substantial there

It is a pity it’s not more visible, but an indirect result of her murder ( Criminal Assets Bureau) is one standout memorial for me.
You’re right. That’s a pretty lame memorial, given the work she did to highlight crime, and how she paid for it with her life.
Last I heard Meehan is in Shelton Abbey open prison, which usually means closer to release. Personally I think that’s an absolute disgrace. Life should mean life in such cases.
Ireland doesn’t do a great job of honouring its heroes.
